"If you want to get your dream into reality, the first thing that needs to be done by you is to wake up from your slumber."
We all have dreams, I don’t mean the type we normally have at night when sleeping. It can be anything from like getting into the higher institution for proper education, studying your dreamed course, becoming successful in life and above all being on top in whatever you do in life. There are many dreams as there are people times ten.

While dreams can be ephemeral in themselves, there is one real fact about them, as it is embodied in the quote on top of this article. While some dream MIGHT come true by accident or some happy combination of circumstances, to MAKE a dream come true, we first have to wake up and DO SOMETHING. Simple sitting around waiting for a dream to come true is no more effective any more than hoping to become a successful person because someone is praying for you to succeed.
However, going to school does not actually guarantee our success; life does not provide us with the guarantee that we will achieve our dream just because we start doing the things that will probably be required to get us there. On the other hand, just as our chances of achieving our success grow as we take more steps towards achieving our goals, some steps are to be taken which includes setting up goals towards the achievement of our dream, leaning and refining skills that might help us, enlisting the aid of those who might be in position to help us, and, perhaps the most important, persevering is our quest.
- GOALS: We humans are goals-oriented creatures. Just as we are more likely to arrive at a physical destination if we know where we are going to, having goals enables us to have a path to follow to the accomplishment of our dreams. Once we set goals to guide us, we will begin to notice events, information, and people that can aid us.
- SKILLS: We cannot become a champion runner unless we learn to walk fast. Once we learn to walk, running may become naturally, but running in a champion manner has to be a thing that must be learned and practised. Additionally, a champion in any field has to learn other skills or talents which complement the attachment of the dream. Turning to sports once more, a champion runner will have to pay attention to nutrition, getting the right amount of sleep and rest, may need to do exercise not specifically linked to the sports but which will improve performance.
- PERSEVERANCE: There are many, including myself, who say that one of the most important factors in success is simply the good old ability to stick to it no matter the challenge in it, no matter how rough the road or far away target is. Almost every field of human endeavour is replete with stories of those of ordinary skill and intelligence who reached the apex of their fields just by not giving up in the way.
- OTHERS: Many at times, we may be able to find coaches or mentor who can help guide us on our path, just as a runner may need a coach who knows about the training required to compete at a professional level. Others may simply provide a shoulder to cry on when we are down and certain that there is no way we can succeed. Some coaches or mentors can be found in books, by the way. If you are not sure of how to get to a destination, read the biographies of a couple of people who did and make it.
Since I began this article with a quote, I will leave you with three:
"Eighty percent of success is showing up" -Woody Alien
"I have not fallen, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" -Thomas Edison
"Ah, nothing is too late
till the tired heart shall cease to palpitate,
Cato learned Greek at eighty;
Sophocles wrote his grand Oedipus and Simonides
Bore off the price of verse from his compeers,
When each had numbered more than four scores years" - Henry Wads/Vorth Longfellow.
