One of the instincts, divinely programmed into humans, apart from eating and drinking is the sexual instincts. While eating is right from the onset of birth, sexual activities delay, but can be activated early enough in life. Judging from the prevalence of developments and increased awareness in our modern day lifestyle, as it affects/promotes sexual activities, this short article will do well to outline some of the negative effect inherent in these attitudes.
It is also noted that sexual activities are limited only to married couples that have attained maturity age. The view of this article, however, discourages sexual activities among youngsters. Early initiation of sexual activities is linked to a wide variety of negative life outcomes as outlined as follows:

Medically:
- Increased rate of infection with sexually transmitted diseases also known as STD such as Gonorrhea, HIV/AIDS, Syphilis etc.
- Implicated in cervical cancer in female (great percentage of women with this cancer are attributed to exposed the sexual contact at a very early age)
- Teenage sexual habits promote unwanted pregnancy which leads to criminal abortions.
- Criminal abortions most often damage the female reproductive organ, which may cause inability to conceive later in life.
- Early sexual activities that result in unwanted pregnancy brings about birth complications such as VESICO VAGINAL FISTULA (V.V.F) a situation whereby the female urinary bladder is damaged during childbirth, with the consequent leaking of urine.
Psychologically:
- Early sexual activities cause teenagers to lose focus on more important issues of life.
- The ill effect of possible sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy causes depression.
Socially:

- The secondary effect of unwanted pregnancy most times causes maternal and child poverty
- Accidental pregnancy may truncate child's education
