The first governor of Kaduna state, Alhaji Muktar Muhammed has been confirmed dead by his younger brother.
According to a report by Premium Times, Alhaji Muktar passes on Independence day 1 oct, 2017, He was reported to have died in a London Hospital.

However, it was also gathered that the one-time governor of Kaduna State died of an illness suspected to be cancer.
Before he came governor of the state, He was an Airforce officer before he joined politics and won the gubernatorial election in 1977 when Kaduna state was created.
Late Alhaji Muktar Muhamed was ones a minister of Housing, Urban Development and Environment from 1976 to 1977, following the coup that brought him into power.
He was the head of Military Tribunals who spearheaded the arrest of the second republic politicians suspected of bribery and corruption under the military regime of Muhammad Buhari.
The Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria last year awarded him the Chairman of Governing Council.
Alhaji Mukhtar was also the Waziri of Dutse till his death.
