The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has the vow to expose to the public those behind energy shortage in Nigeria.
Speaking through the Head of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, Mr Emeka Ezeh, he said in a statement released at Enugu that the purpose of this move is to reduce the rate of electricity theft.

Mr Emeka noted that the Electricity company would no longer relent in the fight against electricity theft, once anyone is caught red-handed, the name of the individual will be published for the general public to read.
He also said that the publication would be after service of the statutory fine, loss of revenue and handling any individual caught to law enforcement agents for prosecution.
"The tackle is a menace, we have set up a special task force to monitor and carry out a routine check on our customers to fish out those engaging in this criminal act.
"It is quite disappointing that customers who are neck-dip in this activity are the energy users.
"This is a big challenge to us as a business and w can't afford to treat this with kid gloves anymore, else it will dwindle the organization.

"The situation where some Nigerians thought they can use electricity without paying for it, thinking it is their right has to come to an end.
"This singular act has contributed largely to the issues faced by the EEDC services in the country
Mr Emeka, therefore, urges Nigerians to report anyone who refuses to pay his electricity bill to the nearest EEDC office or call 084700110.
"The act where the perpetrators use electricity without paying for it thinking it is their right is highly prevalent in the South East regions and it has affected the EEDC greatly.
"This activity has impacted negativity in the Electricity business," Emeka added.
