Acting president of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo said that there are traces of competition in all ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Osibanjo noted that the strength of any nation depends on the unity that exists among the different ethnic groups of that nation.
Osibanjo on 2 August 2017 noted that those saying that are are more marginalised are only seeking for a political appointment.
Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, the Acting president of Nigeria while addressing a seminar of the Institute of security studies on Wednesday 2 August 2017 said that those who claimed are marginalised are only seeking for political appointments.
According to Osibanjo:
"Hate speech proceeds tragedy in human history."
"It is a false narrative that nations formed the way Nigeria is formed are bond to fail."
"It is also a false narrative to say hat one ethnic group is more corrupt than the other ethnic groups in Nigeria. If you look at the corruption record of Nigeria you will realise that all the ethnic groups in Nigeria are a partner in corruption."

"It is also a false narrative to say that we can stand Alone when we divide. While we come together we are more united as a nation."
"It is also not true that those who make marginalisation charges are altruistic, what they are always saying is, I am more marginalised, 'Appoint me.'"
