Relations to Ekene has confirmed the incident which took place on 1 August 2017 by telling news men that their younger brother Ekene have killed their mother at their residential house in Abakileki Ebony State .

When the elder brother to Ekene was contacted, he also confirmed the incident by saying that Ekene killed the mum when she was trying to settle a dispute between him and our younger sister.
Chidi also confirmed the death of Ekene by saying that his younger brother Ekene died of committing suicide by drinking rat poison in an incomplete building located very close to our house after he beat our mum to death.
"After killing our mother, Ekene ran straight to the police station to report the case, when he noticed that they were about to arrest him, he ran away to an incomplete building where he went and killed himself by drinking rat poison."
"Immediately, we carry out investigations searching for Ekene, he was found unconscious in an incomplete building located at Onueba area of Abakileki, Ebony State"

A tenant at the Ezeugo's family house highlighted the story to pressmen by telling them that he also joined in taking Ekene to the hospital.
When the Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Jude Madu was contacted, he did not confirm the incident because he is not in the State when the incident took place and no report has been given to him about that.
The community leader, Chief Aliede said that the who community is still in shock over the incident.
