Manchester City produced a convincing performance to demolish Liverpool 5-0 at the Etihad in their premier league encounter on Saturday.
Goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane sandwiched by a brace from Gabriel De Jesus ensured the Citizens made a minced meat of the Reds.
Aguero had before the game netted in his last five home meetings against the Merseysiders and he ensured that continued as he justified his inclusion in the starting line-up by shooting city into the lead in the 24th minute.
Hopes of a comeback on the part of the Reds were put in further doubt as Sadio Mane was sent for an early shower in the 37th minute after his high boot caught Ederson who had to be stretchered off the pitch.
